The Delhi government’s 10-day theatre festival aims to introduce the next generation to the performing industry over the summer vacation. From June 15, children will have the opportunity to learn acting and other theatre techniques from experts from the National School of Drama (NSD) as part of a festival hosted by the Delhi government, authorities announced on Friday.
During summer vacation, the 10-day theatre festival aims to introduce the next generation to the world of acting. From June 15 to June 25, the festival will be put on by the Delhi Tourism Department in association with the National School of Drama (NSD) at Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, close to Rajghat. Children from Delhi and outside can sign up for the workshop for free if they are between the ages of 8 and 16.
The festival’s other objectives include promoting tourism in the nation’s capital and assisting children in their development by teaching them new skills. Professionals from NSD would teach students about the theatre, the official said.
“Registration for the theatre workshop has already begun. Already, 150 students have submitted applications. 150 of the 250 students who register will be chosen to attend the programme, according to a tourism department official.
The applicants will be chosen on June 12, and on June 13, the final list of chosen individuals will be made public.
From June 19 to June 24, six kids will be performed as part of the festival in a play.
