On their 18th wedding anniversary, actor Mahesh Babu took to social media today to share a picture with his wife, Namrata Shirodkar. Mahesh wished Namrata with a sweet message after sharing one of their photos together. Mahesh and Namrata left for Switzerland on vacation on Thursday, and it appears that the trip was planned to commemorate their wedding anniversary.
Mahesh Babu tweeted, “18 years together and forever to go! Happy anniversary, NSG (Namrata).” In the photo, Mahesh had his arm around Namrata, and they both shared a laugh. Several fans responded to his tweet and wished the couple well. Most of them called them a ‘happy couple’. Another user wrote, “Happy couple. You guys deserve to be at the top of the list of happiest celebrity couples.” Another user wrote, “It’s easy to love but hard to stay that way always.”
Namrata and Mahesh Babu first met on the sets of B Gopal’s film Vamsi in 2000. For the Telugu actor, it was love at first sight. They were initially friends, but by the end of the film’s production, they had become a couple. They later dated for about five years but chose to keep their relationship private.
Namrata’s acting career has come to an end when the couple married in 2005. In a YouTube interview, she stated that Mahesh Babu was clear about having a ‘non-working’ wife. “He was also clear that he didn’t want me to work,” she explained. That’s why we took some time before the wedding to finish shooting for all of my films. I had no work when we married because I had completed all of my pending films. “There was a lot of understanding between us,” she said. She went on to say that her wedding was the happiest day of her life.
Mahesh Babu was spotted at the Hyderabad airport with his wife, Namrata Shirodkar, yesterday. He was on his way to Switzerland for a vacation and will return in two weeks. Social media has been flooded with videos and pictures of Mahesh and Namrata from the airport. Mahesh just finished the first schedule of his film, with ‘Trivikram.’
Mahesh will return to the set of his upcoming film with Trivikram after his vacation. This is their third project together, following Athadu and Khaleja. Pooja Hegde has been cast as the lead. Following the completion of his film with Trivikram, Mahesh will begin work on his next project with SS Rajamouli, which is expected to be a globe-trotting action adventure along the lines of Indiana Jones.
