The first pictures of Alia Bhatt at the 2023 MET Gala show her glowing in white. Alia shared numerous pictures from the ‘fashion’s greatest night out’ red carpet on her Instagram page. With a dress embroidered with 100,000 pearls, the actress paid homage to fashion legend Karl Lagerfeld.
Alia Bhatt was spotted wearing a white dress with a lot of tulle for her much awaited MET Gala debut. She chose a nude makeup look, had her hair half up, and accessorised with a pearl bow. Alia accessorised with a bracelet and a set of dramatic diamond earrings.
At the event tonight, the Heart of Stone actress honoured Karl Lagerfeld’s life and legacy in keeping with the occasion’s theme. Alia used her Instagram account to explain the idea behind her stunning outfit and to give Prabal Gurung the credit he so richly deserved.
Alia stated, “I have always been fascinated by the iconic Chanel brides.” Karl Lagerfeld’s creative brilliance was evident in the most avant-garde and breathtaking couture season after season. This, in particular the 1992 Chanel bridal ensemble worn by supermodel Claudia Schiffer, served as the inspiration for my outfit tonight.
I wanted to do something that felt genuine (hello, pearls!) and proudly manufactured in India, Alia continued. 100,000 pearls were used to create the needlework, a labour of love by @prabalgurung. I’m really proud to wear you to my first Met Gala. Alia also added, “Oh, and it’s white, for my Choup-ED (cat emoji).”
Alia Bhatt was last seen in Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra,’ alongside her husband Ranbir Kapoor. She will next be seen in Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ where she will share screen space with Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi. Alia will also make her Hollywood debut with the action thriller ‘Heart of Stone,’ where she will co-star with Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan.
