The Pan Indian Director Alphonse Puthren announced the OTT release date of his Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer “Gold”. The movie will be released on Amazon Prime Video today.
The movie’s OTT release date was announced in a social media post by the film’s director, Alphonse Puthren. But soon after, he removed the post, leaving followers in confusion. However, it has been later confirmed to be released on 29th December in OTT.
The movie was released in the theatres all over Kerala on 1st December 2022 and gained popularity owing to a star-studded cast. The film stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara in the lead roles along with a long chain of actors in supporting roles and cameos.
Alphonse Puthren, the popular director known for creating masterpieces like ‘Premam’ and ‘Neram’ gets behind the camera for the comedy-drama film Gold. After stepping away from directing for seven years, he made a comeback to the Malayalam industry with ‘Gold’. Because of its inconsistent release dates, “Gold” managed to make many headlines.
The movie showcases the incidents that take place within four days of Joshi, a mobile shop owner, purchasing a new car owing to a marriage alliance that is almost fixed with a girl called Radha.
The movie earned mixed reviews and left the audience with conflicted feelings. Some described it as a typical Alphonse film, while others labelled it a misfire.
