Anupam Kher has joined the cast of Vivek Agnihotri’s upcoming film, ‘The Vaccine War.’ Previously, actor Nana Patekar had been cast in the lead role. Anupam is in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, for the film shoot, which will be his 534th film.
Anupam Kher took to Instagram to announce the film, posting a photo of himself with the ‘The Vaccine War’ clapboard. It also included some information about the film, which is currently in production. “Announcing my 534th film!!! #TheVaccineWar directed by @vivekagnihotri,” Anupam captioned his post. Fascinating and motivating! “Happy New Year!”
The Vaccine War is said to center on India’s journey to develop COVID-19 vaccines in the midst of the outbreak. It is set to be released in 11 languages on Independence Day 2023. It will compete at the box office with John Abraham’s upcoming film, Tariq, which is said to be based on a true story.
Vivek Agnihotri began filming ‘The Vaccine War’ by posting on Instagram, “GM. We live for new experiences. New contentment. New guffaws. New difficulties. Nonetheless, we are at ease with the old and established and will stick with it. This contradiction causes pain. The quickest and most certain way to find happiness is to plunge into uncertainty. The unknowable. #CreativeConsciousness.”
Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri previously suggested about the film, “When ‘The Kashmir Files’ was postponed due to the COVID lockdown, I began researching it. Then we began working with ICMR and NIV scientists to develop our own vaccine. Their story of struggle and sacrifice was inspiring, and while researching, we learned how these scientists fought a war waged against India not only by foreign agencies, but also by our own people. Nonetheless, we defeated superpowers by developing the quickest, cheapest, and safest vaccine. I felt this story needed to be told so that every Indian could be proud of their country.”
