Newlywed Athiya Shetty shared a post on her Instagram about collaborating with Vogue India, featuring her and her husband Rahul. The couple tied the knot on January 23 at Suniel Shetty’s Khandala house.
The duo’s energy made its way onto Vogue India’s digital cover for February 2023, where they dressed down—quite literally. The shoot, which depicted the newlyweds, is in a new, low-key avatar. Instead of traditional wedding attire, they opted for cosy fits such as pyjamas and bathrobes. The pyjamas-and-bathrobe setting appeared to be familiar territory. It was right up their alley, with the couple not only giving us some great shots but also showing us their playful side, as in the pose.
Vogue India captioned the post, “Despite being a power duo, Athiya Shetty and K L Rahul radiate a sense of tranquillity. This energy worked its way into Vogue India’s February digital cover shoot, where the newlyweds dressed down a month prior to tying the knot, in the proverbial calm before the storm. After several years of dating, KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty married last week. Their wedding ceremony was small, with less than 100 guests, mostly family and close friends. White flowers were used to decorate the house for the pre-wedding festivities. The haldi ceremony had a marigold theme.
On Monday, the couple made their first public appearance as husband and wife, just days after posing for the paparazzi on their wedding day. Suniel told the media that the couple’s wedding reception will take place following the Indian Premier League (IPL) season, most likely in Mumbai.
Talking about his son-in-law, Suniel said in a blog post, “Despite having the adulation of the nation, Rahul remains humble. He’s well-mannered, intelligent, and composed. Mana and Rahul are hilarious together! Most importantly, like all athletes, he has experienced ups and downs, which will serve him well after he retires from cricket. Athiya is fortunate to have such a loving family, because his parents are truly the nicest people.” Athiya was most recently seen in Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Motichoor Chaknachoor (2019).
