Celina Jaitly responds to a Twitter user who claims to have seen transgender people only at traffic lights

Celina Jaitly corrected a Twitter user who stated that they are “only reminded of this gender at traffic signals.” The actor, who has always supported the transgender community, said it was heartbreaking to see them begging for a living on the streets.

Celina came across a tweet late last night that said, “I’m reminded of this gender only at traffic signals.” Celina responded to the Twitter user, writing, “What exactly is so funny about it, sir???? Isn’t it heartbreaking to see someone reduced to begging simply because they identify as transgender? This is precisely why #TransVisibilityMatters, because people like you find the dire reality of the trans community amusing!!”

Celina had shared several throwback pictures with famous transgenders like Gauri Sawant and Laxmi Narayan Tripathi on the occasion of International Transgender Day of Visibility the day before.

Celina currently resides in Austria with her hotelier husband, Peter Haag, and their three sons. She frequently posts stunning pictures of herself from the scenic location.

She was last seen in ‘Season’s Greetings,’ a short film on ZEE5 in 2020.

“Most of the meaty parts, good roles, and good films are reserved for people with privileges, who either belong to a camp or come from a film family,” she had said in an interview. She also added, “When you’re an outsider, you can try to push and do your best, but there comes a point when you can’t. So you have the option of succumbing to bullying and not getting the right offers until you believe you are a failure. Or you go on with your life and do other things. You recharge, rejuvenate, regenerate, and return.”
