Dhanush has been busy filming the Mad Max-inspired action movie ‘Captain Miller.’ The film is directed by Arun Matheswaran of ‘Rocky’ fame and is one of Dhanush’s most expensive projects to date. The shoot is still going on, and the film has been delayed and stretched even farther.
Dhanush was recently sighted at the IPL galleries, set up to watch the highly awaited Chennai Super Kings vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore match. The actor was seen off-screen with Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, cheering on their favourite teams.
According to reports, Shivarajkumar will portray the antagonist in the action thriller. The film is set to be a larger-than-life, dusty action thriller starring Dhanush, Priyanka Arulmohan, John Kokken, and Sudeep Kishan, among a stellar ensemble cast.
Arun Matheswaran wrote the script for the film, which is purportedly set in the 1940s. It had gotten into some legal issues in the past with the unauthorised usage of beamer lights in a forest buffer zone, leading to legal trouble with environmental groups citing difficulties owing to wild animals. G. V. Prakash Kumar will compose the music for the film.
Dhanush looks to be dressed as he did in the film, with long hair and a beard, to watch his team compete in the IPL.
Dhanush has already announced his next collaboration with Maari Selvaraj, with whom he worked on the cult film ‘Karnan.’ Wunder Bar Films, Dhanush’s production company, is financing the film. Dhanush will play yet another distinct character in the film from the filmmaker of socially important, caste-conscious cinema. He is also preparing for the second installment of the highly awaited ‘Vada Chennai’ sequel, which will be directed by Vetrimaaran. The filming will begin later this year.
