Dulquer Salman, for his work in the Hindi film “Chup: Revenge of the Artist,” has won the 2023 BBC Top Gear India Award for Petrolhead Actor of the Year.
The actor recently won the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival award for best actor in a negative role for the same movie and thanked the film’s director, R Balki, in a special social media post.
In addition to paying homage to legendary director Guru Dutt and his 1959 masterpiece “Kaagaz Ke Phool,” the movie is billed as a romantic psychopath thriller.
He shared a few pictures from the award ceremony and wrote a special note, “Had the most wonderful night at the BBC @topgearmagindia awards! Many thanks to @ramesh_somani, who’s now become a dear friend, and the entire team of TG India for being the best hosts. From being a longtime reader to meeting the team, it was surreal. The second highlight was that, serendipitously, @ultraviolette_automotive won the award for best EV motorcycle of the year, which I had the honor of presenting to my boys, @narayan_uv and @nirajrajmohan! It doesn’t get more special than that. Lastly, I got to meet all the heads of some of my favorite automotive companies and talk cars and bikes all night with like-minded folk. My love for all things automotive is something I could never explain. I never imagined it would lead to experiences like this. I’ve figured if one pursues something with all their heart and passion, they never know where in life it can take them. To all the car guys out there: Thank you for existing.”
