“Gandhi Godse: Ek Yudh” to hit the theatres from January 26

Renowned Director Rajkumar Santoshi is back to cinema after a long gap with “Gandhi Godse: Ek Yudh”, a history drama. The film explores an alternate reality, wherein Mahatma Gandhi survives the Assassination attempt by Nathuram Godse.

The trailer of the film was released yesterday. The Director opened up that he is unbothered to compete with a high budget film like “Pathaan”, as his movie is a feature film. He even stated that both the movies have a target audience and would have a place of its own. He also talked highly about Shah Rukh Khan in a press meet. He commented that the movie is a bold attempt from his side as he has not sugarcoated any dialogues. The movie has not presented any character in a negative sense.

The role of Mahatma Gandhi is presented by Deepak Antani. Chinmay Mandlekar essays the role of Nathuram Godse and Pawan Chopra as Jawaharlal Nehru.

The movie received a “U certification” from Censor Board. The CBFC has also asked the makers to present the movie in schools and colleges. Santoshi also expressed his elation on how the film turned out as he has been receiving positive response from the people who have already watched the movie.

The movie is Produced by Manila Santoshi under the banner of Santoshi Productions LLP. The music is composed by AR Rahman. The cinematography is handled by Rishi Punjabi.
