‘My Life in Design,’ Gauri Khan’s first book, provides insight into her career as an interior designer. Exclusive pictures of Gauri, Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan Khan, Suhana Khan, and Abram Khan at their Mannat home are also included. The celebrity pair unveiled the coffee table book, which was published by Penguin Random House, on Monday at Taj Lands End in Mumbai.
As usual, Shah Rukh and Gauri seemed lovely. Gauri was spotted wearing a black dress that matched SRK’s outfit, and both were fully attired for the event.
In the foreword to the book, which also talks about the design inspiration for Mannat, Shah Rukh Khan states, “I am excited to see what she has included, and if by chance she has designed some space better than what she has done for me, I will force her to give me a discounted makeover for my space.”
The celebrity also discussed how there were situations when they were unable to purchase a sofa they loved, which is what inspired Gauri Khan to become a designer. “We once went to buy a sofa, but since it was too expensive, we just bought the leather for the sofa on one of my travels and waited for some carpenter to build what Gauri had designed in a notebook,” the actor recalls in his paper.
Mannat is currently recognised as an iconic spot in Mumbai. And it’s become kind of a tradition for SRK to wave at the crowds of followers who assemble outside his residence on special occasions like his birthday and festivals.
