Hailey Bieber is marking one year since her heart surgery following a diagnosis of patent foramen ovale (PFO). The 26-year-old model had PFO last year after exhibiting some stroke-like symptoms. PFO is a condition where the heart has a hole in it. To fix this hole, Hailey underwent surgery. To commemorate the one-year anniversary of her medical operation, she posted a throwback picture from her time in the hospital last year on her Instagram story today.
Hailey Bieber shared a picture of herself lying in a hospital bed, dressed in a medical gown, with an IV drip in her hand. As the picture was being taken, she grinned at the camera. She captioned the picture and thanked her doctors for treating her.
She stated, “This time last year I had a procedure done to close a hole I had in my heart known as a PFO (Patent Foramen Ovale) following a transient stroke. I am so grateful to have found this and have it closed, and I am also so grateful for my amazing doctors.
