“Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” and “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi” actor Paul Grant passed away at the age of 56.
“I’m heartbroken… No girl deserves to lose their father… He was well-known and loved [for his work]. ” He’s gone too soon,” Grant’s daughter Sophie Jayne Grant told Sky News, according to Deadline, a US-based media company.
The actor was found unconscious at a train station in London on Thursday, March 16, and was declared brain dead at the scene. Grant was taken off life support on March 19th. Grant portrayed an Ewok in the George Lucas franchise and a goblin in the Harry Potter franchise. In addition to Star Wars and Harry Potter, the actor also appeared in The Dead (1987) and Labyrinth (1986). Grant is also well-known for his stunt work in films such as Willow (1988), Labyrinth, and Legend (1985).
“I’m devastated,” Sophie Jayne said in a statement to The Sun. In so many ways, my father was a legend. Everyone smiled and laughed when he was around. He was a huge Arsenal fan who would do anything for anyone. He was an actor, a father, and a grandfather. He adored his daughters, son, and girlfriend, Maria, as well as her children, who were like stepchildren to him. “I love you so much, Dad. Sleep tight.”
“Paul was the love of my life,” Grant’s girlfriend Maria Dwyer added. I know the funniest man I know. He completed my life. Life will never be the same without him.”
