India beats Spain 2-0 in Hockey World Cup

India defeated Spain 2-0 in a commanding victory at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela yesterday to start off their Hockey World Cup 2023 campaign. The first score was made by Amit Rohidas in the first quarter with an incredible goal, and then a Spanish defender deflected a cross from Hardik Singh to make it 2-0. In the second half, captain Harmanpreet Singh had a chance to make it 3-0 but missed a penalty shot.

Team India is next facing England on January 15 and Wales on January 19.
