India is all set to face Spain in FYH Men’s Hockey WorldCup 2023 today at 7.00 pm. The Hockey World Cup is held at Bubaneshwar and Rourkela from January 13 to January 29.
The Indian team will be led by Harmanpreet Singh and would also include Manpreet Singh, PR Sreejesh among many others. 16 teams would be taking part in the Hockey World Cup. The four winners of the pool stage will be qualified for the quarter finals and the second and third team would be playing crossover matches in four spots in the last eight. There are four pool stages, in which India belongs to Pool D along with England, Spain and Wales. Group A includes Australia, South Africa, France and Argentina. Group B – Belgium, Japan, Korea, and Germany. Group C – Netherlands, Chile, Malaysia and New Zealand.
The expectations are far greater this time for the Indian team as they performed remarkably at the Olympic Games Tokyo in 2020 and won Bronze. Legendary Indian Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and Former Indian Skipper Virat Koli wished them good luck for the event. Fans are eagerly waiting for the match.
