Pamela Chopra, Yash Chopra’s wife and a notable playback singer, died at the age of 85. As a vocalist, she participated extensively in the music of her husband’s films.
Yash and Pamela Chopra married in 1970 and had two sons, Uday and Aditya Chopra. According to reports, she died as a result of an age-related ailment.
Pamela has been in Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital for the past 15 days. The medics put her on a ventilator, but her condition worsened, which led to her death. The family has yet to release information regarding her funeral.
She was recently seen in the YRF documentary ‘The Romantics, highlighting her husband’s path as a director. She also discussed how Yash Chopra was able to make films despite having a difficult time at the box office. Pamela, Aditya, and Uday discussed how they came up with their own production firm, which is now one of the largest in the country.
Pamela sang several songs for her husband’s films, including ‘Kabhie Kabhie’ and ‘Mujhse Dosti Karoge.’ She produced films on her own initiative. She co-wrote Dil To Pagal Hai’s script with her husband, Aditya Chopra, and writer Tanuja Chandra. Pamela also appeared in the film Dil To Pagal Hai’s opening song, ‘Ek Duje Ke Vaaste.’
