Jayaram, who played Nambi in the first part of Mani Ratnam’s magnum epic ‘Ponniyin Selvan,’ will reprise his role in the sequel, which is going to reach theatres on April 28.
Just one day before the film’s release, the makers released a video of the actor in this new look. Jayaram also revealed his look as ‘Kalamukhan’ in an Instagram post. “Check out this cool look as Kalamukhan from PS-2,” he said.
Though it appears that Kalamukhan is a mask, it is also possible that he is a different character entirely. Fans have been perplexed by his new appearance, given that he previously featured as the pleasing Nambi in Ponniyin Selvan Part 1. In the film, he also had a bald appearance.
There is a lot of excitement for the movie, which was released about seven months after the first one. The film stars a number of well-known actors, including Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, and Trisha.
Ponniyin Selvan is a piece of historical fiction set in the Chola kingdom during the mediaeval period. Chola crown prince Aditha Karikalan, his sister Kundavai, younger brother and title character Ponniyin Selvan, their father and king Sundara Chola, Karikalan’s friend prince Vandiyathevan, Chola empire finance minister’s wife Nandini, a boat woman named Poonkuzhali, and a spy named Aazhvar Kadiyan Nambi are the main characters in the first film.
