‘Mahaan,’ an amazing action drama by Karthik Subbaraj, failed to create a splash since it couldn’t be released in theatres. Following Rajinikanth’s ‘Petta,’ which was released in 2019, the filmmaker went without a critically acclaimed movie. Karthik has thus turned to producing a sequel to ‘Jigarthanda,’ one of the biggest hits of his career, like many other directors throughout the world.
The action drama, ‘Jigarthanda Double X,’ starring Raghava Lawrence and S. J. Suryah, is billed as the precursor to his second movie, which made him well-known in the film industry. The film had a teaser that resembled a Western and featured Raghava Lawrence dressed as a cowboy. The release of ‘Jigarthanda Double X’ for Diwali 2023 has now been officially announced. The movie will be available in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
Director Karthik Subbaraj spoke on the movie’s release date, stating, “I am pleased that we have succeeded in setting Diwali 2023 as the release date for ‘Jigarthanda Double X.’ Considering the respect that the predecessor, ‘Jigarthada,’ earned, it is a challenging project. I have faith that this movie will live up to its predecessor.
‘Jigarthanda Double X’ is being financially supported by Stone Bench Films’ Kaarthekeyen Santhanam, who stated, “The announcement of ‘Jigarthanda Double X’ going on floors sparked enormous interest and excitement due to the popularity of ‘Jigarthanda’ and the affection the prequel had earned. I’m overjoyed that we can announce with pride that ‘Jigarthanda Double X,’ a widely anticipated movie, will be released this Diwali in three languages.
