At a lavish celebration hosted in Kochi yesterday, Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan celebrated the enormous success of the megastar’s most recent movie, Rorschach.
The megastar of Malayalam cinema, Mammootty, is finally enjoying a resurgence with the enormous success of Rorschach, his most recent film. The psychological supernatural thriller, directed by Nisam Basheer, got rave reviews from critics and spectators alike and became a big financial hit. On Wednesday, Mammootty and his son, actor Dulquer Salmaan, who produced the movie, gathered to celebrate Rorschach’s success. At the celebration for their achievement, which was held in Kochi, the father-son team made a rare public appearance together.
Rorschach’s producer and star, Mammootty, and the movie’s producer, Dulquer Salmaan, surprised the cast and crew at the success party with a special gift basket. The father-and-son team gave away a wooden box that features a poster of Rorschach and includes a set of Apple AirPods and other gifts. Sulfath Mammootty and Amaal Salmaan, who graced the stage alongside the megastar and young crowd favorites, were with them.
It’s interesting to note that Mammootty gave actor Asif Ali, who played a crucial role in Rorschach, a Rolex watch. According to reports, the young actor, a self-confessed megastar enthusiast, did not get paid for his part in the movie.
The young filmmaker Nisam Basheer and Mammootty worked together for the first time on Rorschach. The megastar portrayed Luke Anthony, an NRI businessman who seeks revenge for the passing of his pregnant wife, in the movie. In the film, Asif Ali plays the main antagonist, Dileep, among a stellar ensemble cast that includes Jagadeesh, Bindu Panicker, Grace Antony, Sharafudheen, Kottayam Naseer, and others.
