Mammootty starrer ‘Kannur Squad,’ first look poster released

Mammootty, the Malayalam film industry’s megastar, has announced his next project. The actor has collaborated with director Roby Varghese Raj on the upcoming film ‘Kannur Squad.’ The first look poster has also been released, and the actor appears to be fierce and mysterious in the poster.

Kannur Squad’s first look poster was shared on Twitter by the film’s producers. Mammootty wears an intense expression in the poster. Four other characters are also seen conducting a search.

Kannur Squad is an investigative thriller directed by popular cinematographer Roby Varghese Raj, who is making his directorial debut with this film. ‘Kannur Squad’ was written by Muhammad Shafi and actor Rony David Raj. Mammootty’s production company, Mammootty Kampany, is financing the film, which is being presented by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films Private Limited. The project, which began filming on December 27, 2022, features a stellar supporting cast that includes Sunny Wayne, Sharafudheen, Gayathri Arun, Azeez, and many others.

Muhammed Rahil is the cinematographer, and Praveen Prabhakar is the editor. Sushin Shyam is composing the film’s music. Mammootty previously stated in an interview about the film that “Kannur Squad revolves around a squad who specialize in catching culprits. Even now, there is a Kannur squad under Kannur SP.” The actor also revealed that he is playing an ASI in the film.

Mammootty is enjoying the success of his recent film, ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam.’ The film is also available on Netflix in Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu. The megastar’s performance in the film has received widespread acclaim. Mammootty plays James, who wakes up after a siesta and begins acting like Sundaram, a Tamilian who went missing two years ago.

Mammootty’s upcoming family drama ‘Kaathal: The Core,’ his first onscreen collaboration with popular actress Jyothika, is set to release in the summer of 2023. The veteran actor is reportedly planning to begin filming for ‘Bilal,’ the long-awaited sequel to his 2007 film ‘Big B,’ directed by Amal Neerad, by mid-2023.
