Nawazuddin Siddiqui has owned and aced every role he has played. Both viewers and filmmakers have praised his versatility and dedication. A recent video of his transformation that he shared will certainly boost your respect for the actor.
Haddi is a film directed by Ajay Sharma in which Nawaz plays the role of a transgender. The story was co-written by Adamya Bhalla and Ajay and produced by Sanjay Saha and Raadhika Nanda under the banner of Zee Studios. Nawaz captioned the transformation video, “Here’s a sneak peek into my transformation in #Haddi.”
Nawazuddin shared a behind-the-scenes video in which he revealed that he spends three hours getting into character for the film Haddi. Several fans took to the comments section shortly after the video’s release to praise Nawaz for his efforts.
Haddi tells the story of Hari, a small-town boy who dreams of becoming a woman. It also includes a brief history of Indian transgender people. Earlier in November, the Manjhi actor shared a picture from Haddi’s sets and wrote on Twitter, “Working with real-life trans women has been an incredible experience in Haddi. Their presence was empowering.”
He told the media that “I’m working with a lot of trans people in Haddi. I was in a room with 20–25 of them. Their perspectives on the world are completely different. That was very intriguing. I learned a lot about their experiences. I don’t want my character to appear caricatured. I’d rather feel the character in my bones than just play it. That’s why I decided to stick with them (trans-people). I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out.”
