Give yourself a break and relax to stay young forever. Youth is a gift which has to be taken care of because it is a prized possession. Aging is an inevitable and irreversible process in life, but it can be delayed if given proper care.

The following are some simple yet effective ways to stay young and healthy –

The mantra is to feel light, feel younger. The right attitude towards life can take you to your desired aim.

  • Practice smiles and laughing, it makes you look bright and young.

  • Regular exercise is a must for a healthy body and skin. Stress can be avoided by yoga, meditation, and deep breathing exercises.

  • Take out time for body relaxation.

  • Quit smoking. Tobacco consumption leads to wrinkles, bad skin and pigmentation on skin.

  • Avoid alcohols and drink homemade red wine and champagne.

  • Avoid junk food.

  • Keep  stress and tension away.

  • Be optimistic. Positive thoughts bring positive changes in your body.

Eat healthy to be healthy. Have a balanced diet .

  • Eat a variety of fresh, whole, real foods.

  • Avoid processed foods since they have less nutrients.

  • 3/4th of the plate must have green vegetables.

  • Make it a habit to eat 2 – 3 fruits every day.

  • Include healthy fats such as coconut oil, cold pressed, olive oil, avocados, almonds, and walnuts etc

  • Avoid trans- fats and reduce saturated fats in non vegetarian foods.

  • Intake of salt must be controlled.

  • Increase the intake of pulses and fresh fruits like apples, oranges and watermelons.

  • At least one day a week should be vegetarian.

  • Include food which contains omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants such as tuna fish, sardines and anchovies.

  • Eat dark chocolates

  • Avoid foods which contain refined carbohydrates like sugar, maida, white bread etc.

A very big NO to cosmetics can make you a natural beauty, and help you look younger than your age. Although some of the cosmetics give a temporary elegant look, they affect the natural skin to a very large extent. Take care of your skin to make it flawless –

  • Keep yourself hydrated by drinking enough water a day.
  • Eat fresh fruits and green leafy veggies.

  • Wash your face regularly. Make it a point to keep the skin clean to avoid the accumulation of dirt on the pores.

  • Use sunscreen daily.

  • Exfoliate regularly.

  • Apply a moisturizer always, to keep the skin soft and delicate.

  • A good sleep for 8 hours.

  • Drink lemon juice as it has natural anti-oxidants. Green tea, grapes, berries, nuts, whole grains, and fish, also contain anti-oxidant properties in them.

  • Use homemade remedies to make face packs with available things in your kitchen such as tomato, papaya, turmeric, oatmeal, honey, curd, coconut oil, olive oil, lemon etc.
