‘Parineeta’ movie director Pradeep Sarkar passed away

Pradeep Sarkar died in a Mumbai hospital. He was 67. Bollywood celebrities who paid tribute included Ajay Devgn, Manoj Bajpayee, and Hansal Mehta.

Hansal Mehta shared a photo of Pradeep on Twitter on Friday morning. He wrote, “Pradeep Sarkar. Dada. RIP.” Sharing Hansal’s tweet, actor Manoj Bajpayee wrote, “Oh! That’s so shocking! Rest in peace, Dada!”

Ajay Devgn took to Twitter and wrote, “The news of Pradeep Sarkar’s death, ‘Dada’ to some of us, is still difficult to accept. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with the departed and his family. RIP Dada.”

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri shared a comment on Twitter. “It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Pradeep has left for his heavenly abode. Please join us at 4 p.m. for his funeral at Santacruz Hindu Crematorium to say goodbye to him.”

Pradeep made his directorial debut in 2005 with Parineeta. He was also the director of Laaga Chunari Mein Daag (2007), Lafangey Parindey (2010), Mardaani (2014), and Helicopter Eela (2015). He has also directed a number of web series, including Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala (2019), Arranged Marriage and Forbidden Love (2020), and Duranga (2022).
