Prithviraj is now recovering after sustaining a leg ligament injury while filming in Marayoor. He had a successful keyhole procedure this morning and has been told to take a two-month break from work. The actor suffered the injury while filming Jayan Nambiar’s ‘Vilayath Buddha,’ when he jumped off a bus during a fight scene and tore a ligament in his leg.
As a result, the filming and pre-production of a number of Prithviraj-starring films, including ‘Empuraan,’ have been put on hold indefinitely. On July 2nd, the actor was supposed to fly to the US for ‘Empuraan’ pre-production work. As a result, the movie’s scheduled September start date has been pushed back. Prithviraj is presently working on the films ‘Vilayath Buddha’ and ‘Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil.’ The actor was involved in a number of pre-production projects that will now be placed on hold.
‘Vilayath Buddha’ is being directed by Jayan Nambiar, who previously worked as an associate director on Prithviraj’s movie ‘Lucifer.’ Priyamvadha Krishna plays the female lead in the movie, which is an adaptation of the same-named book by G. R. Indugopan. Prithviraj plays the role of Double Mohan, a sandalwood thief, in a play produced by Sandeep Senan under the banner of Urvashi Theatres. After ‘Thondimuthalum Drikshakshiyum,’ ‘Sathyam Paranjal Viswasikkumo,’ and ‘Saudi Vellakka,’ this movie is Senan’s fourth and largest project.
The script for ‘Vilayath Buddha’ was written by Rajesh Pinnadan and Indugopan. The movie was initially going to be directed by Sachi, but Jayan Nambiar, who previously served as Prithviraj’s assistant director in ‘Lucifer,’ subsequently took over. One of the highest-budget films in Malayalam cinema, the movie is set in the sandalwood forests of Marayoor and deals with themes of retaliation, passion, and retribution.
Shammi Thilakan, Anu Mohan, Rajashree Nair, and TJ Arunachalam make up the cast of ‘Vilayath Buddha.’ Jakes Bejoy composed the soundtrack, while Aravind Kashyap, who is well-known for his work in well-liked Kannada films like ‘777 Charlie’ and ‘Bell Bottom,’ was in charge of the cinematography. The controller of the production is Alex E. Kurian.
