RRR gets a housefull re-release in the United States ahead of Oscars 2023

RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli, was released in theaters in March 2022, and the magic is still going on almost a year later. As an Oscars 2023 promotion, the Jr. NTR and Ram Charan starrer was re-released at the world’s largest screening in the United States on March 1. And the screening was sold out. More than 1,600 tickets were sold, and long lines formed to watch the visual spectacle on the big screen.

Fans flocked to the RRR once more in anticipation of the Oscars 2023 in theaters. The film’s creators took to Twitter to share a few images from the theater in the United States. The show sold out in minutes, and fans waited in long lines to see the movie again. The producers organized this special screening ahead of the 95th Academy Awards, which will be held on March 12. Director SS Rajamouli spoke to the audience at the Ace Hotel prior to the special screening.

RRR’s ‘Naatu Naatu’ song has been nominated for an Oscar in the Best Song category for 2023. Another exciting development is that the song will be performed live on stage by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava. The excitement is palpable, and netizens are proud of RRR’s progress. The 95th Academy Awards will be held on March 12 at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre. The grand night is expected to be attended by Rajamouli, NTR, Charan, and the entire RRR team.

RRR is a fictional retelling of the lives of revolutionary freedom fighters Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, as played by Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, respectively. The film premiered in India on March 25, 2022, and was later released in Japan and the United States. In supporting roles, the film also stars Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris.

The film was made on a budget of around Rs 300 crore and grossed over Rs 1500 crore at the box office worldwide. Despite being available on OTT platforms, audiences continue to watch RRR on the big screen.
