RRR, the period drama directed by SS Rajamouli, has received five major nominations at the Critics’ Choice Awards, just days after receiving two nominations at the Golden Globes.
RRR is based on the lives of real-life revolutionaries Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju. The film, starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, has received nominations in the following categories: Best picture, Best director, Best visual effects, Best foreign language film, and best song (Naatu Naatu).
The Critics’ Choice is the biggest critics’ organisation in the United States and Canada, with over 600 media critics and entertainment journalists as members. This award is a good indicator of what moviegoers liked in theatres this year.
RRR recently received two important nominations for Best Original Song and Best Non-English Picture at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards.
