“Naatu Naatu” from RRR wins the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song

The song “Naatu Naatu” from Blockbuster movie “RRR” wins the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song. The song made history being the first ever Asian song to win the Golden Globes.

Golden Globe Awards was back with a bang this year, since it was banned last year by Hollywood celebrities, publicist and NBC, due to the absence of Black HFPA members. Due to the revamping of rules, the 80th Golden Globe Award was held at Los Angeles on January 10th.The song “Naatu Naatu” is composed by the veteran music director MM Keeravaani and written by Kala Bhairavi and Rahul Siplijunj. The award was accepted by MM Keeravaani and the event was attended by Director SS Rajamouli, Ramcharan and Jr. NTR. The actors took their Instagram to share pictures from their celebrations. The song features Jr. NTR and Ramcharan and has hit almost 111 million views in Youtube. People were awestruck by the choreography of the song. “Naatu Naatu” faced neck to neck competition with “Carolina” by Taylor Swift.

RRR also won the award for “Best Motion Picture” and also nominated for the best non- English language film category.
