Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who recently completed a schedule for the Indian adaptation of Citadel, has returned to the sets of her upcoming Telugu film Kushi after a lengthy absence. Samantha took a leave of absence from work after being diagnosed with myositis, a rare autoimmune disease. On her return to the Kushi sets yesterday, she was greeted with a cake by the crew of the film.
Social media has been flooded with images of Samantha from the set of Kushi. One of the pictures shows her being greeted with a cake. As Samantha returned to the set, director Shiva Nirvana described her as a “fighter” on Twitter. He wrote that she was back on set. “The Fighter @Samanthaprabhu2 returns to the #Kushi sets @TheDeverakonda @MythriOfficial @HeshamAWMusic musical. Everything is going to be lovely.”
The film marks the second collaboration between Samantha and actor Vijay Deverakonda after Mahanati, in which they were paired together. The title of the film as well as the poster were revealed in May. In an Instagram post, Samantha described it as a film that will be a great family experience. After completing the first schedule in Kashmir, the film’s production was halted after Samantha revealed she was suffering from myositis, a rare auto-immune disease.
Samantha had to put all of her commitments on hold while she received treatment for her medical condition. As a result, the Kushi shoot had to be postponed for several months while the producers waited for new dates from Samantha to resume shooting. A few months ago, replying to a question from a fan about when she will resume shooting for Kushi, Samantha wrote, “Kushi will resume very soon. Please accept my apologies to @TheDeverakonda fans.
Samantha was most recently seen in the Telugu action film ‘Yashoda.’ She portrayed a surrogate mother who will go to any length to protect her child. The film proved to be a box-office success.
