Sanjana Sanghi discusses why she is thrilled to be working with veterans like actors Ratna Pathak Shah and Pankaj Tripathi.
Sanjana Sanghi is not like the typical Hindi film heroine. At a time when most actors prefer roles with broad appeal, she has chosen to work in films with veterans.
In the upcoming film Dhak Dhak, she will co-star with actor Ratna Pathak Shah, and in another project, actor Pankaj Tripathi will play her father. Working with such eminent names could make any young artiste nervous, but this has never been the case for Sanghi.
“I’ve never been nervous or intimidated by people I admire and respect since I was a child. I don’t go into that space for some reason. “It’s also because of how amazing Pankaj sir and Ratna ma’am are as people,” the 26-year-old actress says.
The Rashtra Kavach Om (2022) actor compares them to “mentors,” adding, “They are so giving. [I learn a lot by] not only observing them, but also by the small details that reveal how I can improve my performance in a scene. As an actor, I consider myself fortunate to have gotten that… Pankaj ji, in fact, has been like a father to me since we began prepping.”
Interestingly, this is her second collaboration with Tripathi, following Fukrey Returns (2017). This time, however, things are different. “I never had a scene with him, and I had no idea we were in the same film!” Yes, technically, this will be the second one, but it’ll be on a different plane,” she quips.
