Sara Ali Khan plays a valiant freedom fighter in the movie ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’. She is seen in an unseen retro look from the pre-independence era. Sara is seen in a saree, pulling down all curtains in a room before she sits down to assemble a radio like device. After setting it up, she says that the British feel that they curbed the Quit India Movement.
The movie is expected to be a thriller that revolves around several true events. It is a story about courage, patriotism, sacrifice and resourcefulness of the youth of the nation.
Sara shared the first look video of the movie through her Instagram with the caption “An ode to the unsung heroes. An ode to India’s freedom struggle. So privileged, honored and excited to be telling a story that we truly believe deserves to be heard. Jai hind”.
The movie is Directed by Kannan Iyer and Produced by Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta under the banner of Dharma Entertainments. The script is handled by Darab Farooqui and Kannan Iyer. ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ is an Amazon original movie which is filming currently.
