Satish Shah talked about Heathrow Airport staff’s inquiry on ‘how he could afford first class’

Satish Shah tweeted about what he told Heathrow airport staff when they asked how he could afford first-class tickets.

Actor Satish Shah tweeted about a recent incident at London’s Heathrow Airport. The actor, best known for his show Sarabhai Vs. Sarabhai, revealed how airport employees made racist remarks to him. Satish mentioned that staff members were gossiping about him and wondering how he could afford to fly first class. “I replied with a proud smile, ‘because we are Indians’ after I overheard the Heathrow staff wonderingly asking his mate, “How can they afford first class?” he said.

Satish’s tweet was widely retweeted and liked. “Good morning, we’re sorry to hear about this encounter,” wrote Heathrow Airport in response to the tweet. “Could you please DM us?”

“You could have also told them, come and see our Delhi and Hyderabad airports and decide where Heathrow stands,” one commenter said. I recently flew through Heathrow. It’s similar to our old Mumbai airport.” Others were less convinced by the incident. ” That’s a nice way of saying you travelled first class. Sir, take note!! The rest is nonsense, as you are well aware!! Thousands of people fly first class from India, but only you are called out. It’s a little too much (kuch jyada nahi ho gaya)!! “Totally made-up story, obviously,” wrote another.

Satish Shah is best known for his role in Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai, a popular TV soap opera comedy. He has also appeared as a judge on the TV show Comedy Circus and has appeared in films such as Ra.One, Main Hoon Na, and Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron.

Many Bollywood celebrities have taken to social media to criticise their flights and airlines for inappropriate behaviour or poor service. Last July, Vir Das documented his 5-hour flight delay and how the passengers began to revolt. Shweta Kawaatra of Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii was recently stranded at Munich airport with her daughter for more than 24 hours. She misplaced her luggage, encountered rude airport personnel, and spent the night at the airport.
