Indian Opener Shubman Gill set a record by scoring his second century in the three-match series. He equalled the record set by Pakistan’s Babar Azam in 2016 against West Indies. Gill took 208 runs in the first ODI and 40 in the second ODI and is the fifth Indian to get a ODI double hundred.
Gill’s tally of runs is the most recorded by any batter in a bilateral ODI series. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill struck a combined haul of 22 fours and 11 sixes.
The first wicket stand was also the highest opening partnership against New Zealand. The previous record was held by Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag.
Shubman Gill is an Indian international cricketer who plays for Punjab in domestic cricket as a right-handed opening batsman. He was the vice-captain of the India U-19 team for 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He got awarded with Player of the Tournament for same U-19 Cricket World Cup.
