“Stree 2” starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao will begin filming in July

‘Stree,’ a horror comedy starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, was a sleeper hit at the box office in 2017, grossing around Rs 125 crore. The film was instrumental in popularizing horror comedies in the Hindi film industry. Six years later, things are moving quickly at the Maddock Office in Khar to take Stree 2 from the floors. Amar Kaushik and Dinesh Vijan, according to sources, are planning to begin Stage 2 in July 2023.

Stree is a game changer for everyone at Maddock, and at this point in time, all the energies are invested in coming up with an experience better than the first film. The script is almost finished, and the dialogue draft is being worked on. “Stree 2 will enter pre-production in April, and the makers hope to start shooting in July this year,” said a source close to the project, adding that Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao will return to the movie for newer and bigger adventures.

“In addition to the two leads, Varun Dhawan will make a special appearance as Bhediya in Stree 2. It would be the first film in which characters from the horror universe begin to intertwine their stories. While Bhediya made a brief appearance from the Stree team, it was only in the end credits sequence and not in the script,” the source added.
