The announcement that Tamil actor Suriya was teaming up with filmmaker Siva, who has a track record of delivering blockbusters such as ‘Siruthai’ (2011), ‘Veeram’ (2014), and ‘Viswasam’ (2019), for his 42nd film sparked excitement among the actor’s fans. When the film’s title, ‘Kanguva,’ was formally released last month, the amount of excitement among Suriya’s fans increased, magnifying their excitement even more.
In a fascinating move, Studio Green, the highly anticipated film’s co-producer, has released an interesting picture. Suriya is photographed working out, displaying his well-defined biceps as he prepares for the highly anticipated feature. It goes without saying that a small 10-second clip containing only this one picture paired with ‘Kanguva’s’ mesmerising background soundtrack, which was released alongside the film’s title, has quickly become a viral hit across numerous social media platforms. “It’s #Kanguva mode,” Studio Green said as he shared the post.
‘Kanguva,’ produced by Gnanvel Raja for Studio Green, would mark Disha Patani’s Tamil debut, with Devi Sri Prasad composing the film’s music. While Gnanvel has already stated that ‘Kanguva’ will be the most expensive film in Suriya’s career and that Siva is creating a whole new setting for the historical drama, the director himself has lately defined what ‘Kanguva’ means. Kangu means ‘fire’ in Tamil, according to Siva, and ‘Kanguva’ is about a person who can wield fire. He added a warning, though, not to accept the word’s literal meaning and assume Suriya would be portraying a character with superpowers.
Meanwhile, it was previously reported that the digital rights to the historical fiction film were sold for an unparalleled sum. According to producer Gnanavel, Amazon Prime Video purchased the film’s South Indian digital rights for Rs 80 crore.
