Suriya voted as a member of the Oscar committee at the 95th Academy Awards. The actor shared a picture alongside an announcement that he had completed his Oscar voting. For the uninitiated, he is the first Tamil actor to be invited to serve on the Oscar committee.
Suriya took to Twitter to share a screenshot of himself voting for Oscar nominations. The actor voted in the nominated categories, which were announced a few months ago. Suriya didn’t say who he voted for, but he did say on Twitter, “Voting is completed! @TheAcademy #Oscars95.” ”
Kajol, as well as Fire directors Sushmit Ghosh and Rintu Thomas, have been invited to vote at the Oscars.

Suriya will soon begin filming for Vetrimaaran’s period drama ‘Vaadivaasal.’ The project was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it is now set to begin filming in April or May. The film is set against the backdrop of Jallikattu, an ancient sport practiced in Tamil Nadu. GV Prakash has composed the music, and filming is currently underway.
