‘2018’ by Jude Anthany now has an OTT release date. Starting on June 7th, the movie will be streaming on Sony LIV. ‘2018’, on the other hand, holds the distinction of becoming the first Malayalam movie to cross the 150-crore mark.
The movie, now in its fourth week, is receiving rave reviews from audiences. Tovino Thomas, Asif Ali, Kunchacko Boban, Narain, Lal, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Sudheesh, Aju Varghese, Aparna Balamurali, Tanvi Ram, Shivada, Gauthami Nair, and Siddique are just a few of the movie’s impressive cast of actors.
The movie made 1.85 crore on May 5, the day it was released. Positive word-of-mouth also made sure that there were more reservations on weekends. The major centres had to boost their shows as soon as they had full houses in front of them.
The movie made 80 crores in Kerala alone, and it also made 11 crores and 65 crores in the rest of India and abroad. The movie earned 150 crore in 150 days. No other movie in recent times has gotten such overwhelmingly favourable reviews from everyone. Typically, the UAE and GCC have favourable opinions about Malayalam films. But ‘2018’ is doing spectacularly in the US and Europe. The majority of international screens are still showing ‘2018’ shows even into the third week, which gives Malayalam films cause for optimism and pride.
