The exclusive making-of video from the sets of ‘Thangalaan,’ starring Chiyaan Vikram in the lead, has been released on the occasion of the actor’s birthday. The film is directed by Pa Ranjith and produced by Studio Green, K. E. Gnanavel Raja, and Neelam Productions.
The video provides a glimpse into the world of Thangalaan, a historical drama inspired by genuine occurrences in the Kolar gold fields.
More crucially, beyond the first few scenes, it focuses on Vikram’s character. The camera follows Vikram as he prepares to play the part. Vikram underwent a major physical alteration for his role in Thangalaan. He not only reduced his weight but also his muscular mass to look the part. He shaved the front area of his head to achieve a half-shaved look with a man bun.
Ranjith took to Twitter to share a new poster and the making-of video. “Happy birthday, @chiyaan sir, to my Thangalaan. As our humble tribute to Chiyaan, we present you a slice of flesh, a grand making visual video of Thangalaan,” he tweeted.
The film, which also stars Parvathy and Malavika Mohanan, is set to be released later this year.
