The official teaser of ‘The Continental: From the World of John Wick’ has been released.
The series intends to give audiences a glimpse into the Wick universe prior to the happenings of the first movie. The film will premiere on Peacock in September 2023. The three-part series stars Mel Gibson and Colin Woodell in the lead roles. The series also stars Peter Greene, Ben Robson, Ayomide Adegun, Nhung Kate, and Katie McGrath in prominent roles.
The official synopsis for the three-part event states, “The three-part event will explore the origin behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins centerpiece of the John Wick universe through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, as he’s dragged into the Hell-scape of 1970’s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his future throne.”
The Continental hotel chain will serve as the series’ focal point; it is a notorious assassination hotspot that is also featured in the John Wick movies. The trailer appears to be hazardous, mysterious, and action-packed, which are all elements that fans have been hoping for.
Filming for the series commenced in Budapest, Hungary, in November 2021. Albert Hughes directed the first and third episodes, while Charlotte Brandstorm directed the second. Greg Coolidge, Derek Kolstad, Shawn Simmons, and Kirk Ward are among the writers for the program, which is produced by Lionsgate Television and Thunder Road Pictures.
