The Indian Music Maestro AR Rahman celebrates his 56th birthday today. He is known as “Isai Puyal” and “Mozart of Madras”. As he couldn’t celebrate his birthday in Chennai, he promised to host a live session on Instagram for his fans.
He is known for composing songs for popular films including Kadhalan, Thiruda Thiruda, Gentleman, Jodha Akbar and many more. He also received appreciations for background scores in Roja, Bombay, Iruvar, Swades, Rang de Basanti, Lagaan, Rockstar, Enthiran etc. He received accolades including six National Film Awards, two Academy Awards, two Grammy Awards, A Golden Globe Award, fifteen Filmfare Awards and seventeen Filmfare Awards South. He was conferred with Padma Bhushan by the Indian Government in 2010.
