‘Thunivu’- Thala’s One Man Show

‘Thunivu’ is Ajith’s latest Tamil movie, directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor. The movie, which reportedly had a 200-crore budget, was a Pongal release that only partially satisfied the audience.

‘Thunivu’ is a genre-specific movie about a bank robbery. It is simply Ajith’s one-man show. Manju Warrier gave an okay performance in the short screen time she was given.

Apart from illogical scenes where guns were shot with no recoil, the gunfire sequences and blastings were nicely done. While the background scores were okay, the VFX and sets were disappointing.

The first half of the movie was very engaging, but the second half was a little disappointing as it showed many unnecessary flashbacks. There were also many scenes and references that reminded the audience of Ajith’s previous movies.

Overall, ‘Thunivu’ is an above-average movie with a good theatre experience. You will not be disappointed with this movie if you are a diehard ‘Thala fan’ who likes to see his mass performance.
