Tovino Thomas will soon be back as the celebrated Indie superhero Minnal Murali. In an Instagram post, the actor recently hinted at the same.
Tovino Thomas, the young star of the Malayalam film industry, received widespread acclaim for his performance in the superhero film Minnal Murali. The homegrown superhero film, which is helmed by talented filmmaker Basil Joseph, had a direct OTT release on Netflix in December 2021. Minnal Murali will be a franchise with additional installments, which has already been confirmed. Tovino Thomas has now confirmed that he will be returning as the superhero very soon.
The young actor recently confirmed on his official Instagram account that he will be returning as Minnal Murali very soon, as the universe is set to expand. Tovino Thomas, on the other hand, will not return as the superhero in the film’s sequel, but he will play the role in the upcoming Netflix Playback video. “The Netflixverse’s gates have opened, and universes are colliding. Your entire world will be turned upside down. The answer is yes; “Tovino’s post was captioned.
He also shared a special still from the upcoming Netflix project, in which he is seen sparring with another popular Netflix character. Tovino Thomas’s Minnal Murali look has changed slightly in the new still. The actor is seen with a different hairstyle and a thick beard, unlike in the film, where he had a different hairstyle and stubble.
Director Basil Joseph confirmed that the second instalment of the Minnal Murali franchise will not be released for another three years. Before beginning work on the sequel to the beloved film, the young filmmaker intends to direct one or two films. However, unlike the first instalment, the second instalment will be released theatrically first.
The talented actor will next be seen in Vazhakku, a social drama that recently had its grand premiere at the 27th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). Tovino Thomas is currently working on his ambitious project, Ajayante Randam Moshanam, in which he will play three roles. He is also set to reprise his role as young politician Jathin Ramdas in L2: Empuraan, the long-awaited sequel to Mohanlal’s Lucifer, which was released in 2019.
