The makers of ‘Ulajh,’ a patriotic thriller, announced Janhvi Kapoor as the lead. The film, directed by Sudhanshu Saria and produced by Junglee Pictures, also stars Gulshan Devaiah and Roshan Mathew.
Set in the prestigious and intriguing world of Indian Foreign Services (IFS), ‘Ulajh’ follows the journey of a young IFS officer, played by Janhvi Kapoor, from a prominent family of patriots who gets involved in a dangerous personal conspiracy while on a career-defining assignment far from her home turf.
Janhvi Kapoor, who was most recently seen in ‘Mili,’ said she was immediately drawn to ‘Ulajh’s’ interesting plot. ‘Ulajh’ is written by Saria and Parveez Shaikh, with dialogues by Atika Chohan.
“As an actor, I am constantly looking for scripts that make me break out of my comfort zone, and portraying a character based in the celebrated world of the Indian Foreign Services was just that,” the 26-year-old actor said in a statement.
The film’s cast also includes Rajesh Tailang, Meiyang Chang, Sachin Khedekar, Rajendra Gupta, and Jitendra Joshi.
The goal of Junglee Pictures, according to Amrita Pandey, CEO, is to produce films and collaborate with artists who have a fresh and distinct voice to capture and delight the audience. “Having Sudhanshu on board for a film like ‘Ulajh’ is an ideal match. His creative skills are unparalleled; he has given nuances and dimensions to each character, making the plot so compelling.”
