Veteran Tollywood star Kaikala Satyanarayana passed away

Veteran Tollywood actor Kaikala Satyanarayana passed away today, December 23, at his home in Hyderabad, after a short-term illness.

The South Asian film industry awoke this morning to the sad news that another seasoned Tollywood actor, Kaikala Satyanarayana, had passed away at the age of 87. After a brief illness, Kaikala Satyanarayana, a renowned actor and former lawmaker, passed away today at his Jubilee Hills home in Hyderabad. He has a wife, a son, and two daughters.

Tomorrow, December 24, the final rites will be performed at the Mahaprasthanam crematorium in Jubilee Hills. He appeared in more than 750 movies over the course of a career that lasted six decades. With the 1959 drama Sipayi Koothuru, he made his acting debut. Before being offered the part of Kaikala in the 1960 film Apoorva Sahasra Siraccheda Chintamani, he first worked as NTR’s body double.

Several actors from the South paid tribute to the veteran actor. Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja expressed his sorrow on Twitter: “Grieved over the passing of renowned actor Kaikala Satyanarayana Garu. He is among the best actors India has ever seen.”
Actor Ram Charan from RRR also expressed his condolences on social media “shocked to learn of Kaikala Satyanarayana Garu’s passing. We will always remember his contribution to the film industry! May his soul rest in peace.” “Kaikala Satyanarayana gaaru… One of my favourite actors from the golden era of Telugu cinema,” Natural Star Nani tweeted.Mana intlo Manishi la anipistharu. Legendary body of work. Condolences to the family.”
Allu Arjun, who starred in the movie Pushpa, also expressed his sorrow in these words:  “saddened to hear the demise of Kaikala Satyanarayana Garu.. His contribution to our film industry will be remembered forever!! May his soul rest in peace. #kaikalasatyanarayana.”
