Viacom18 secured media rights of Women’s IPL

Viacom18 secured the media rights of Women’s IPL for 951 crore for next five years. It means each match would have 7.09 INR for 2023-2027.

This is taken as a great progress for Women’s cricket as the media rights were auctioned. The news was confirmed by Jay Shah, the Secretary of Board of Control for Cricket in India through Twitter. He tweeted, “Congratulations Viacom18 for winning the Women’s IPL media rights. Thankyou for your faith in BCCI and BCCI Women. Viacom has committed INR 951 crores which means as per match value of INR 7.09 crores for next five years(2023-27). This is massive for Women’s Cricket.”

Even though BCCI has not yet released the schedule of the match, there are speculations that the match would take place between March 5 and March 23. BCCI has also made the decision to introduce WIPL, which is scheduled for March. The base price has been separated into different groups ranging from 10-50 Lakhs.
