Vijay’s new Tamil movie, ‘Varisu’ is coming to theatres tomorrow. The movie is simultaneously releasing in Telugu under the title ‘Vaarasudu’. The Telugu movie was also expected to release tomorrow, but it has now been postponed until January 14th.
The Telugu pre-release event was conducted in Hyderabad. But the main cast and crew missed the event. Only the producer and Telugu actor Srikanth attended it. While ‘Varisu’ is a Pongal release,’Vaarasudu’ will be a Sankranthi release.
‘Varisu’ will clash at the box office with Ajith Kumar’s ‘Thunivu’, Balakrishna’s ‘Veera Simha Reddy’, and Chiranjeevi’s ‘Waltair Veerayya’. It is to be noted that Ajith’s Thunivu is also releasing in Telugu as ‘Thegimpu’.
Producer Dil Raju spoke about why he took the decision to postpone Varasudu and said, “I have said many times that Varasudu is not in any competition with Chiranjeevi’s ‘Waltair Veerayya’ and Balakrishna’s ‘Veera Simha Reddy’. Varasudu is a complete family entertainer. I have shown family entertainers in the past for Sankranthi, so with the same thought, I wanted to release Varasudu. But Balakrishna and Chiranjeevi garu need a huge release in Telugu states, so I took this decision positively to release my film later.”
