The 2013 Indian box office sensation ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ is 10 years old today. Deepika Padukone and Kalki Koechlin, who starred in the movie, shared fond memories of their time spent with the cast and Ayan Mukerji, the director, on social media.
First of all, Ayan Mukerji sent a message on his social media accounts, recalling how happy it made him to make the movie for kids. Following that, Kalki and Deepika also made postings of their own.
Deepika also posted a few movie bits to her Instagram. Ayan Mukerji was reported as saying that the movie covers all the feelings he had as a 20-year-old, including friendship, romance, and ambition. That is the dilemma that the college friends in the movie convey. A bit of my heart, Deepika Padukone captioned a picture of herself and co-star Ranbir Kapoor that she posted to her Instagram stories. A second image with the words “and my soul” was shown after that.
Similar, tearful content was posted by Kalki on Instagram. She remembered moments on the sets where everyone got involved, as when Deepika taught a dance move, Ranbir pulled practical jokes, or Ayan Mukerji posed awkward personal questions that would spark some very memorable conversations.
The movie was a smash blockbuster and is still prominently listed as one of the best Hindi films to be watched on OTT platforms. A “happy ten years” had passed, as Kalki recalled.
